OUR HISTORY

Sonoma Paradiso Foundation was founded in 2004, by two leading wine industry families, the Jackson-Banke Family, and the Furth Family.  Jess Jackson, Barbara Banke, and Peggy and Fred Furth were determined to work together to find ways to make a greater impact on the lives of children in their community, and to focus their respective family foundations’ philanthropy on the children most in need of education, health care, social services, after school programs, and the arts.

Through the years the Sonoma Paradiso Foundation has grown and changed with the times, but continued to find ways to help those in need.   In 2007 Sonoma Paradiso Foundation partnered with one of Northern California’s premiere philanthropic organizations and became a Supporting Organization of the Community Foundation Sonoma County.
Together with the support of friends, wine industry partners, financial and business leaders, as well as a small team of volunteers, Sonoma Paradiso Foundation has now raised over $7 million for the children’s charities of Sonoma County.
